Two couples from Chicago We
especially enjoyed Urbino – walking the streets, people watching at the
Cathedral and Palazzo Ducale, eating gelato. Had a lovely seaside lunch
at Ristorante Angela in Fano, and loved the towns of Corinaldo and
Acqualagna. In Fossombrone, liked the super-thin crust pizza at La
Grotta (the polar opposite of Chicago style!)

we’d known the surroundings were so magnificent we would have booked
three weeks instead of just one!... If you have trouble relaxing at Cà
le Cerque, you’ll have to see a shrink when you get home!

was our third say in your wonderful home. With our two children, it was
time for the beach at Torette; we had pizza at La Grotta and three
times we went to Pesce Azzurro, a self-service fish restaurant at the
Fano harbour.

guidebook was very useful. The restaurant we recommend is La Ritrovata
(at Reforzate near Sant’Ippolito). We also went to the gorge (La Gola
del Furlo) every day where we had a lovely swim (Cagli – Pianello –
Secchiano)

almost every day to Marotta beach and would recommend this beach to all
families with small children, as the beach is empty, the water shallow
and parking is easy. Another highlight of our stay was the caves at
Frasassi. The guided tour is amazing – we have never seen so many
stalactites and stalagmites.

house is just a dream, everything is provided for, it was like a second
home to us. We liked Urbino very much, but also San Leo and Gubbio. On
Earle’s advice, we drove up to Monte Catria on a hot day – what a
relief from the heat.

and seeing the farm animals. The teenagers enjoyed roaming around San
Marino and the beach at Fano.

the pizza and churches, old stone buildings and remarkable wooden doors
and views from the hilltops of Fossombrone.
